Just a little exciting update for you! You might remember that we were given a Queen’s Award for Enterprise in Innovation for our Eco Warrior range back in 2022… well last month we collected our award in person from Deputy Lieutenant Mr Nicholas Wentworth-Stanley and Deputy Lieutenant Louise Hewett!
What the Queen’s Award means to us
Just a little re-cap: the Queen’s Award is open to all British businesses, and has been running since 1965. There are four categories; Innovation, Sustainable Development, International Trade and Promoting Opportunity. Each category recognises and celebrates the amazing achievements of wonderful British brands, and to be among the over 7000 companies who have been awarded is just amazing!
Innovation
So what does the award in innovation mean? It’s a recognition all the hard work we put in here at Little Soap, to ensure that our organisation is not only innovative in the way that we do business, but in our products and services too. We’re a B Corp brand, which means that we have some pretty high standards to meet, and this definitely shines through in all that we do as a company. Being awarded the Queen’s Award for Enterprise in Innovation confirms that for us, and really makes the hard work worthwhile, every single day!
We know that the last two or three years have been so very difficult for businesses all across the globe, let alone here in the UK. But this award shows us that resilience and dedication wins through. We’re redefining the bathroom, helping not only your skin but the planet too- and we couldn’t be more proud!
Presentation of the award
Back in October we attended a glitzy ceremony where the award to Little Soap Company was announced by Vice Lord Lieutenant of Worcestershire. And just last month, the team gathered together as we were presented with the physical Queen’s Award!
It was a surreal moment, but one which the entire team will treasure forever. It means so much to us all, knowing we’re changing the supermarket aisles, one bar at a time!
Onwards and upwards
We’re not done yet. The Queen’s Award is valid for five years, but we promise you we’re not about to slow down any time soon. The UK is filled with so many amazing businesses that we’re proud to support and celebrate, but we’re also keen to learn from too. We ourselves plan to continue insuring and innovating too, and we’re always happy to support like-minded companies on their own journeys towards bettering the world we live in.
We hope to use our award for good. We want to inspire, give hope, educate. We want to share our story- from making soap at a kitchen table to selling at local markets, to being on the shelves of supermarkets with the Queen’s Award logo… it is possible, some would say essential, to dream big and achieve your goals.
