Three Little Reasons to Love Organic Skincare

Spring Time Skincare Tips

Spring Time Skin Care Tips

It looks like spring has finally arrived (unless we’ve just jinxed it!) and so that can mean only one thing… it’s time to spring clean your beauty routine! We’ve put together some top tips on how to update your regime, and what you need to do now to get ready for warmer weather, sunnier days and longer evenings. Here are our favourite springtime skincare tips – please do share yours in the comments too!

Update your skincare routine

We always advocate for an update on your skincare routine whenever we enter a new season. The change in weather, temperature and humidity can all have an impact as we move through the months- so keeping your routine updated really helps to make sure you’re giving your skin what it needs, when it needs it.

Now is also the time to give your brushes and sponges a good clean, and to make sure that any old products you no longer use are either gifted and re-homed, or re-introduced into your routine if possible. Gather all your soap scraps and either press them together into a new bar or visit this post for more ideas on how to use them up.

Prep your skin for spring

Your skin might need a little extra TLC as we move into spring, so set some time aside for a pamper session.

Exfoliate

Spring Time Skin Care Tips

Hopefully, exfoliation has always been top of your list, no matter what season we’re in, but if not then now is the time to get back into the habit. Exfoliating helps to remove the old, dead skin cells, allowing space for your skin to breathe and for new cells. Now is the perfect time to remove dull, dry winter skin so you can really get your glow on.

We recommend our Eco Warrior Body Scrub Bar for an all-over treat- fragranced with citrus essential oils and blended with oatmeal, this bar will reduce excess oil and relieve skin irritation and itching. This one is great for pre and post tan too!

Dry brushing

Dry brushing takes exfoliation to a whole new level, so why not incorporate it into your new skincare regime. Dry brushing helps to stimulate blood flow, remove toxins, get the lymphatic system going, improve circulation and reduce cellulite. Phew!

For tips on how to do it, read this post from Boots.

Shave/ remove hair

Time to get the legs out. Eek! So many of us spend all winter wearing jeans or leggings, so we don’t tend to pay much attention to what’s underneath until the sun comes out… but are you ready for it?

Chances are, your shaving routine needs a little tweaking now too. So grab an Eco Warrior Shaving Bar and a good quality, reusable razor- and let’s go!

Spring Time Skin Care Tips
  • It’s a good idea if you’ve already exfoliated during your morning shower, so your skin is already primed and ready to shave. This also means the razor won’t get clogged up with dead skin cells too.
  • Don’t forget that your skin will need a soak before you shave too, so run a warm bath with plenty of bubbles, then just lie back and relax for a while. We recommend a dash of Organic Lavender bubble bath to relax and soothe.
  • Take it slowly, and don’t apply too much pressure. If your razor is sharp, you won’t need to press it at all.
  • Against the hair, or with the hair? This might be down to trial and error- see what works best for you.

Always follow up your shave with a good, cooling moisturiser to avoid the skin drying out – but wait for at least 30 minutes post-shave before you apply it.

Foot care

Your feet are probably due an outing right about now too! Get them ready with a luxurious soak in the tub, followed by a nourishing foot mask. Use a pumice stone to gently remove rough or hard skin too.

Swap your products

Spring Time Skin Care Tips

A few of your favourite products might need to be swapped out as we get into the swing of spring. Now is the time to go for lighter moisturisers for the daytime, and something a little more deeply hydrating at night. And, of course, don’t forget your SPF!

You might find that the change in season also brings out a few new skin issues that you need to tackle too…

Treat skin issues

Sometimes the change in weather can cause irritation, dryness or even acne flare-ups. If this is the case for you, you might need to make a few extra tweaks to your springtime skincare routine.

The higher temperatures can increase the risk of pores becoming blocked, leading to an increase in breakouts for some. We recommend our Eco Warrior Clear Skin Bar for gentle but effective cleansing with soothing Tea Tree essential oil and charcoal.

If you find that your skin becomes dry with the change in season, we recommend our Eco Warrior Sensitive Facial Bar for gentle. nourishing care with Mediterranean Castile olive oil fragranced with chamomile and calendula essential oils.

We also recommend upping your water intake, and adding more hydrating foods to your diet, such as fruit, cucumber, courgettes and tomatoes.
